Arthroscopy

Arthroscopic surgery is commonly used in the investigation and treatment of lameness in horses.  Trauma or infection in joints or tendons can be evaluated and treated using arthroscopic procedures.  A small camera is inserted into the joint while the horses is under general anaesthesia.  Using another port created in the joint, instruments can be inserted to removed and repair damaged tissue and bone.  We have a new state of the art arthroscope and are able to perform routine joint investigations.
